A roaster in a café is not hidden in a back room. It sits where customers can see it, and for many of our buyers it is the most photographed object in the shop. So the colour is not a detail added at the end. It is part of the order, and it should not cost you an extra month or an import from Europe to get it.
Where this step sits
Colour is applied after welding, grinding and surface preparation, and before final assembly. Logo and nameplates go on after the colour, on the branding page.

Standard colours on every series
Every Yoshan roaster series ships in a set of standard colours at no extra lead time:
| Series | Standard body colours |
|---|---|
| SD series | Red, black, white, blue, green, plus custom |
| YS series | Black, white, red, blue, yellow, plus custom |
| DY series | Black, white, copper, red, plus custom |
| EC-500G sample roaster | Matt black (OEM logo available) |
Panels and trim — hopper, cyclone, cooling tray surround, face plate — can be finished separately from the body: brushed stainless, mirror stainless, or plated finishes such as gold, rose gold and titanium. The purple SD-3 Pro with matching afterburner and the navy SD-1.5 on this page are customer machines, not renders.
How the finish is applied
The body and painted panels are powder-coated in our own plant. The process, in order:
- Surface preparation. After grinding and deburring, parts are cleaned and pre-treated so the powder bonds to bare metal, not to oil or scale. This step is what separates a finish that chips at the first knock from one that lasts.
- Powder application. Dry powder is sprayed onto the earthed part electrostatically, which is why powder coating covers edges and inside corners more evenly than wet paint.
- Curing. The part goes into an oven where the powder melts and cross-links into a continuous, hard skin.
- Inspection. Colour, gloss and coverage are checked before the part goes to assembly; panels that do not match are re-coated.
Parts that live at high temperature — the drum, the firebox — are not powder-coated. Those are bare cast iron or stainless by design.

Custom colours
If your brand colour is not in the standard set, send us a Pantone or RAL reference. We match it with a powder supplier, coat a sample panel, and send you a photo — or the panel itself — for approval before the machine is painted. Custom colours add some lead time for sourcing and sampling; the exact figure depends on the colour and the model, and we state it in your quotation.
One example: a roastery in Oman ordered a YS-6 in white LPG configuration with a custom logo, together with filling and sealing machines for the same line. The white was matched to the shop interior. You can read the Oman case study.
What this means for you
- The machine matches the shop on day one. No local repainting, no waiting for a European brand’s colour programme.
- A powder-coated body handles café life. Knocks from carts, cleaning chemicals, humidity — powder is harder and thicker than wet paint.
- Resale value. A distinctive, well-finished machine holds value if you ever upgrade capacity.

How to verify this on any roaster
Ask for a photo of a finished machine in the colour you want — not a render — and ask whether the colour is powder or wet paint. Then ask which parts are excluded from the finish and why. If the answer is “everything is painted”, the drum and firebox are about to be painted too, and that coating will burn off.
Frequently asked questions
Can you match an exact Pantone or RAL colour?
Yes, within the tolerance of powder-coating pigments. We send a coated sample panel photo for approval first. Very bright fluorescents and some metallic effects are harder to match exactly in powder; we will tell you before you commit.
Will the colour fade or discolour near the drum?
The body around the drum is designed so the powder-coated surfaces stay below the coating’s rated temperature. Fading in normal service is not something we see. Direct flame contact or wrapping the exhaust in a way that overheats the body would damage any finish, which is covered in installation training.
Is there a minimum order for a custom colour?
No. A single machine can be ordered in a custom colour. The lead time and any sampling cost are stated in the quotation for that machine.
Can the hopper, cyclone or face plate be a different colour from the body?
Yes. Two-tone machines — a coloured body with a stainless, mirror or plated face plate and trim — are common orders. Tell us the combination and we will confirm what is available on that model.
Final thoughts
Colour is the first thing your customers see and the last thing a factory should be vague about. Every machine in the YS series and SD series is available in the standard colours above or in yours. The next step in the build is putting your logo on it, or you can return to the full build sequence.
