Certifications and Test Reports: Every Document a Yoshan Roaster Carries

Twenty-seven of the buyer questions in our enquiry records are some version of “is it CE certified?” — usually from Europe, usually as the first question. The honest answer to that question is a set of documents, not a logo, so this page shows the documents: certificate numbers, issuing bodies, the models each one covers, and the certificate images themselves. Copies go out with every quotation on request.

The company on the certificates

Our certificates are issued to Dongyi Yangshan Mechanical Equipment Co., Ltd, the manufacturer behind the YOSHAN brand. Certificates from 2020 to 2024 show our previous plant address in Bao’an District, Shenzhen; documents from 2025 onward show the current factory at Building B, Tongzhou Industrial Park, No. 162 Hedi Road, Guangming District, Shenzhen 518107. The company moved; the certificates did not change hands. Our factory has been audited on site by SGS (report 485769037_T) as a verified manufacturer.

Coffee roasters — SD, SD Pro, YS-6 / 12 / 15, DY and EC-500G

The FDA report tests seven parts that touch coffee — five metal parts, a PTFE part, an acrylic part and the sight glass — for total extractables under 21 CFR 175.300, 177.1010 and 177.1530, and for lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury and hexavalent chromium. What CE marking on a roaster does and does not cover

Our roaster CE certificates are issued against the Machinery Directive (guarding of rotating parts, emergency stop, safe access — standards EN ISO 12100) and, on the 2020 certificate, the Low Voltage Directive (electrical safety — EN 60204-1). Those are the two frameworks under which the machine is tested, and they are what the electrical safety test and the three-stage inspection check on every unit.

We do not describe our roaster CE certification as covering gas-appliance regulations. The gas train on every machine is pressure- and leak-tested before shipping — see the gas leak test — and the burner documentation your local inspector needs varies by country. Tell us your country at quotation and we confirm which burner documentation your inspector will accept.

Roastery equipment — destoners and afterburners

ESP smoke filters, loaders, roaster tables, filling and sealing machines and hullers are not covered by these certificates. Ask before ordering if your destination requires documentation for those items — see roastery equipment.

Espresso machines and grinders we supply

We supply, rather than manufacture, commercial espresso machines and grinders. Their certificates:

Memberships and marks

• SCA membership. Yoshan is a member of the Specialty Coffee Association’s global network — not a product certification, but a sign that we operate inside the specialty coffee industry.
• Registered trademark. YOSHAN is a registered trademark, including in the United States.
• SGS factory audit. Our production site has been audited on site by SGS (report 485769037_T) — a verification of the factory itself, distinct from the product certificates above.

What we do not claim

• No UL, CSA or ETL listing. Machines for North America are handled through our US site and are outside the scope of this page.
• No gas-appliance directive certification on roasters — see the section above.
• No certificate we cannot send you a copy of. If a scheme your market requires is not listed here, ask, and we will tell you plainly whether we hold it, can obtain it for your order, or cannot.

How to request copies

Send us your destination country and the model you are considering. You receive the certificates for that model — CE, RoHS, the Declaration of Conformity, the FDA report — with your quotation, and again in the document pack that ships with the machine. If your importer, installer or insurer needs a specific format or a stamped original, tell us before the machine ships.

Frequently asked questions

Is CE marking enough to install a gas roaster in the EU?

CE marking is the condition for placing the machine on the market. Installation is a separate step under your national gas and building regulations, carried out by a licensed installer. Our documentation supports that installation; it does not replace the installer’s sign-off.

Which certificate applies to my model?

DY, EC-500G, SD, SD Pro and YS-6 to YS-15: the 2023 certificates AH2023062101 and AH2023062102 plus the 2026 FDA report. YS-20 and larger: the 2020 certificates 2020SZ0703040 and 2020SZ0703041 plus the 2025 Declaration of Conformity and the FDA report. The model list on each certificate image above is the authority.

Can I get the certificates before I pay a deposit?

Yes. They are on this page, and copies for your model are sent with the quotation. You should never have to pay to see a supplier’s compliance documents.

Does an OEM-branded machine keep the same certifications?

The machine is the same, so the test basis is the same. How the declaration is worded for an OEM brand depends on your arrangement; discuss it with us before ordering. See OEM branding.

Does the FDA report expire?

The report has no expiry date; it records the test result for the materials on the models listed, as tested in June 2026.
