2kg Coffee Roaster

Factory-direct 2kg coffee roaster DY-2KG at USD 3,399 EXW — gas or electric at the same price, your colour and logo included, every figure on this page before you ask.

Which DY-2KG — and What Goes With It

Start from the roasted coffee you sell in a week. Up to about 50 kg a week — a coffee shop roasting in-house, a market stall, a startup micro roastery or a home-based small business — fits a 2kg coffee roaster run in a few sessions. If 2 kg is your smallest batch rather than your largest, look at the cast-iron 3kg roaster instead. See all 27 commercial coffee roaster models and prices.

The DY-2KG is the 2kg coffee roaster in the Yoshan range — the step up from the DY-1KG for a café roasting for its own bar, a garage or home-based roastery, or a coffee brand that has outgrown one-kilo batches. It shares the DY-1KG's 304 stainless double-layer drum and half-hot-air, half-direct-fire principle, roasts 0.3–2.5 kg of green coffee a batch, and comes as a gas or a fully electric 2kg coffee roasting machine at the same USD 3,399 EXW Shenzhen. Yoshan has built drum roasters since 1990, today in our own Shenzhen plant; the figures below are the ones you will see on your quotation.

Electric. The electric 2kg coffee roaster heats with 4,420 W of elements and runs from an ordinary single-phase 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz supply: a dedicated circuit of roughly 20 A with an RCD, no flame, no cylinder and no gas fitter. Electric roasters ship without a plug; your electrician wires them to the RCD. It costs exactly the same as the gas model.

Gas. The gas DY-2KG burns LPG (propane) or natural gas at about 0.2 kg an hour; its motors and fans draw only 220 W. Tell us your country and gas type at quotation and we fit the burner for your gas before it leaves the factory.

110 V countries. In the United States, Canada, Japan or Mexico the gas model runs from a small step-up transformer (quoted separately) or a 220 V commercial circuit; the electric model needs a proper 220 V line. Send your address and we specify the transformer, the amperage and the plug on the quotation.

What is in the price. USD 3,399 EXW Shenzhen covers the roaster, its chaff cyclone and cooling tray, the bean probe, the tool kit and the manual, film-wrapped in a fumigated wooden crate, with the colour and logo of your choice applied.

Delivered cost. Your quotation lists sea freight to your port, air freight if you are in a hurry, insurance and — for most countries — DDP door delivery with duties, each on its own line, so you know the landed cost before you pay a deposit. We do not quote a single delivered number until we have your address.

Payment and lead time. 50% to start production and 50% before shipment, by T/T, L/C, PayPal or card on a payment link; Alibaba Trade Assurance if you prefer it. You receive the test-roast video of your own machine before the balance. Every DY-2KG is built to order in your colour, so the lead time is confirmed in writing on the quotation rather than promised here.

Space and venting. The DY-2KG stands 1200 mm wide, 850 mm deep and 1200 mm high on castors, so it rolls into a café corner or a garage roastery and moves for cleaning. The exhaust is ducted outdoors through the chaff cyclone; the JD-3K electrostatic filter (USD 1,500, sized for 1–3 kg roasters) cleans the smoke and smell for indoor roasting but the air still leaves through a duct.

Add-ons. The ZX-1 worktable (USD 399) brings the roaster to counter height; the YS-Q3 destoner (USD 1,299) clears 3 kg of green coffee in two minutes; grinders are quoted on request. Ordered with the roaster, accessories ship in the same crate at 20% off list.

Warranty. One-year limited warranty from the day you receive the goods: any part that fails without human damage is replaced by air express at our cost, with 24/7 lifetime phone and online support. Extend the DY-2KG to two years for USD 299 or three years for USD 799. Commissioning is done with you on a video call.

Who Runs a 2kg Coffee Roaster

Four ways our customers use the DY-2KG — and what to order with it.

Café Roasting In-House
Café Roasting In-House

Roast for your own bar and a shelf of retail bags on a 2kg coffee roaster in a back corner: 0.3–2.5 kg a batch, 12–15 minutes a roast, four or five batches in a morning. Choose the electric DY-2KG where gas is not allowed — one 220–240 V single-phase line — and add the JD-3K filter if the exhaust cannot reach outside.

Garage or Home-Based Roastery
Garage or Home-Based Roastery

A DY-2KG on a ZX-1 worktable rolls into a garage or spare room on castors, 1200 × 850 × 1200 mm all in. The gas model draws only 220 W from the wall, so in the United States it runs from a small step-up transformer; the electric model needs one 220 V line. Colour and logo are applied before the test roast.

Online Coffee Brand and Market Stall
Online Coffee Brand and Market Stall

When customers reorder, the roast has to repeat. Artisan logs every DY-2KG batch over USB or Bluetooth from the fitted bean probe, so a good profile is replayed by hand, not remembered (pictured on a DY-1KG — the same body and panel). Up to 2.5 kg of green coffee a batch is the difference between one and two bags per roast.

Before the 3kg Roaster
Before the 3kg Roaster

Most DY-2KG owners keep it for samples and small lots when they move up to the cast-iron SD-3KG (2–3 kg a batch, USD 4,599 gas). Same Artisan setup, same spare-parts contact, same factory — so start at USD 3,399, prove the demand, and add capacity instead of replacing the first machine.

Inspected Three Times, Test-Roasted Before You Pay the Balance

Inspected Three Times, Test-Roasted Before You Pay the Balance

Every DY-2KG 2kg coffee roaster is checked three times on the line — drum and bearings, burner or elements, wiring — and then run with real green coffee before it is crated. You receive the test-roast video of your own machine, in your colour, before the second 50% is due. What you pay for is a roaster you have already watched work.

Fully Electric on 220 V Single-Phase: No Gas Fitter

The electric DY-2KG heats with 4,420 W of elements and runs from a single-phase 220–240 V circuit. That is why it is the 2kg coffee roaster people choose for a shop-floor corner, a garage, or a building where gas is not allowed: the electrician wires one dedicated line with an RCD and you roast — no flame, no cylinder, and the same USD 3,399 as the gas model.

Your Colour and Your Logo, at No Extra Charge

Black, white, copper and red are standard; yellow, earth tone, brushed silver, rose-gold trim and any RAL shade you name have all left the factory on a DY-2KG — see the colour boards in the gallery — and the cooling tray, hopper and sight-glass rings can be plated to match. Send a RAL code or a photo of your shop; colour and logo on this 2kg coffee roaster are included in the price.

A 304 Stainless Double-Layer Drum, Built in Our Factory

The DY drum is 304 food-grade stainless steel with a double wall between the flame and the beans, so the coffee roasts on hot air and radiant heat rather than on a scorching surface — the half-hot-air, half-direct-fire principle every Yoshan drum shares. We make the drum, the frame and the panels of this 2kg coffee roaster ourselves in our Shenzhen plant — a factory, not a trading supplier.

Artisan on USB or Bluetooth, Bean Probe Fitted

The DY-2KG ships with a German thermocouple bean probe and a data port. Plug a laptop in over USB, or pair over Bluetooth, and Artisan draws your curve in real time, logs every batch and lets you replay a profile by hand. It is a manual 2kg coffee roaster with a memory — not a PLC, and priced like it. Pictured: the DY-1KG, which shares the DY-2KG's body and control panel.

Certified: CE, RoHS, FDA Coating Report

Yoshan DY roasters carry CE certification under the Machinery and Low Voltage Directives (AH2023062101, covering DY-1 to DY-300), a RoHS report (AH2023062102), an FDA 21 CFR 175 coating test report (RC2605141067) and an SGS factory audit. Copies of every certificate for your 2kg coffee roaster go out with the quotation, and we confirm which burner documentation your inspector will accept before you order.

Choosing a 2kg Coffee Roaster: Output, Power and Landed Cost

What a 2kg Coffee Roaster Produces

A 2kg coffee roaster — a 2 kilo coffee roaster, 4.4 lb — takes 0.3–2.5 kg of green coffee per batch. Green coffee loses weight in the drum, so you bag less than you load: a full batch comes out at roughly 2 kg roasted. At four batches an hour — 12–15 minutes roasting plus 1–2 minutes cooling — that is up to about 8 kg of roasted coffee an hour. Two three-hour sessions a week cover a café; a full day covers a small wholesale round. Treat these as typical figures: roast level and bean density move them.

Electric or Gas at 2 kg

At this size the choice is not about price — both DY-2KG models are USD 3,399. It is about the building. If you have a gas line or can stand a cylinder outside, gas costs less per batch and draws almost no electricity. If you cannot have a flame, the electric DY-2KG runs on single-phase 220 V from one dedicated line. Decide by your wall, not by your wallet.

Running It in the United States

More than half of the enquiries for this roaster come from the United States, and they ask the same three things. Voltage: the gas model runs from a small step-up transformer on 120 V, the electric model needs a 220 V line. Fuel: propane is fine; the burner is set for LPG before it leaves the factory. Cost: your quotation lists the machine, sea or air freight to your port, insurance and DDP delivery with duties on separate lines, so the delivered cost is visible before the deposit.

When 2 kg Is Too Small

If you are already roasting more than five full batches a day, or your weekly demand passes about 50 kg of roasted coffee, look at the 3kg coffee roaster: a cast-iron drum, 2–3 kg per batch, gas at USD 4,599 or a heater-tube electric version on 220 V or 380 V three-phase. Many DY-2KG owners keep the 2 kg machine for samples and small lots when they move up; for cupping lots under 500 g there is the EC-500G sample roaster.

What Arrives in the Crate

The roaster with its chaff cyclone and cooling tray, the bean probe, the tool kit and the manual, wrapped in film inside a fumigated wooden crate. Colour and logo are applied, and any worktable or add-on you ordered is packed alongside, before the test roast.

What is the delivered cost of the 2kg coffee roaster to my address?

The machine is USD 3,399 EXW Shenzhen, the same for every buyer. Send your address or port and your quotation lists sea or air freight, insurance and DDP delivery with duties on separate lines, so you see the landed cost before paying anything. We do not quote one delivered number without an address, because that is the only way it stays true.

Yes, through Artisan. The DY-2KG ships with a bean-temperature probe and a data port; connect a laptop over USB or Bluetooth and Artisan draws the curve live, saves every batch and shows the saved profile next to the live one so you can replay it by hand. It is a manual roaster with a memory, not a PLC machine — for automatic replay, look at the SD Pro models.

Every DY-2KG is built to order and painted in your colour, so there is no shelf stock and we do not print a lead time here — it moves with the production schedule; standard black or white is fastest. Ask us and you get the current date in writing on the quotation, plus the transit time to your port. Colour and logo do not add cost or lead time.

The gas model runs on 120 V through a step-up transformer, because its motors and fans draw only 220 W; the transformer is quoted separately and can travel in the same crate. The electric model draws 4,420 W and needs a 220–240 V single-phase line, which is standard in US commercial premises. Electric roasters ship without a plug; your electrician wires them to an RCD.

The YS-Q3 destoner (USD 1,299) is sized for 1–3 kg roasters and clears 3 kg of green coffee in two minutes; the JD-3K electrostatic smoke filter (USD 1,500, 3,000 m³/h) is built for 1–3 kg roasters and doubles as a stand. Both are made in our own plant and ship 20% off list when ordered with the roaster. The exhaust still leaves through a duct.

No. USD 3,399 is the roaster with its chaff cyclone, cooling tray, bean probe, tool kit and manual. The ZX-1 worktable (USD 399), YS-Q3 destoner (USD 1,299) and JD-3K smoke filter (USD 1,500) are priced separately and shown above; grinders are quoted on request. Nothing is bundled in silently, and nothing is hidden in the price.

The one-year limited warranty starts when you receive the goods: any part that fails without human damage is replaced, with spare parts sent by air express at our cost, plus 24/7 lifetime phone and online support. Commissioning is done with you on a video call. Extend the DY-2KG to two years for USD 299 or three years for USD 799 at ordering.

No. It is a floor-standing 2kg coffee roaster on castors, 1200 × 850 × 1200 mm and 150 kg with the cyclone, so it rolls into a corner and moves for cleaning. If you want it at counter height, the ZX-1 worktable (USD 399, 1200 × 500 × 715 mm) is built for the DY-1KG and DY-2KG.
