Siemens Control, Weishaupt Burners, ADDKA Motors: The Parts We Do Not Make Ourselves

Most factory pages tell you what the factory makes. This one tells you what we buy. A coffee roaster is a cast drum in a welded body — that part we build — plus a burner, a controller, sensors and motors. For those, we choose established industrial suppliers and we name them, because the name on the part decides whether you can get a replacement in your own country in three days or three weeks.

Where this step sits

These components are fitted during burner assembly, control panel wiring and drive system assembly. Their availability is the reason the spare parts page can promise what it promises.

The five we name

Weishaupt burner — SD-30 Pro and larger, YS-120 and larger

Weishaupt is a German manufacturer of industrial burners used in boilers, furnaces and process heating worldwide. On our largest full-hot-air machines — the SD-30 Pro, SD-60 Pro and upward, and the YS-120 and upward — the burner is a Weishaupt unit. Machines from 1 kg to 20 kg use a rail-type burner built for the drum size. What that gives you: stable, modulating heat across the roaster’s range, flame supervision built into the burner’s own control, and a burner your gas engineer has almost certainly worked on before. Service manuals and parts exist in your language, from Weishaupt’s own network.

Siemens control system and touch screen — YS series and SD Pro series

The automatic control on YS and SD Pro machines runs on a Siemens system with a Siemens touch screen. It tracks bean and air temperature to ±0.1 °C, stores profiles, and on industrial YS lines sequences loading, charging, roasting, cooling and discharge. Siemens is the most widely supported industrial control platform in the world; any automation technician can open the panel, and a screen or a PLC module is a stock item from Siemens distributors on every continent. Our Siemens PLC automation article goes into how the control works.

German temperature probes — dual bean and air probes on the YS series

On the YS series, two probes, bean temperature and air temperature, both German-made; on the DY series, a German-made bean probe. The probe is the part of a roaster that decides whether the curve on the screen means anything. We use German thermocouples because their response and consistency between probes is what makes a profile transferable between two machines of the same model — and a thermocouple is a standard industrial sensor you can also source locally if you ever need to.

ADDKA motors — YS series

The YS series uses four independent motors from ADDKA, a Japanese manufacturer, so that the drum, the cooling stirrer, the cooling fan and the exhaust fan each run on their own drive. Independent drives are what let you roast one batch while cooling the last, and adjust drum speed without affecting airflow. Four small, standard motors are also easier to replace than one large custom drive.

OMRON pneumatic servo control — industrial YS lines

On industrial YS roasters (20 kg and above), doors, charge and discharge mechanisms are driven pneumatically under OMRON servo control. OMRON is a Japanese automation supplier with the same global distribution as Siemens. The system is chosen for low failure rate under continuous 24-hour operation, and because every valve and controller in it is a catalogue part.

What we build ourselves

For the record, and so the line is clear: the cast iron drum and body (SD and YS series), the 304 stainless drum (DY and EC series), the welded frame and sheet-metal body, cyclone, hopper, cooling tray and stirrer, the gas train assembly, the panel wiring and the final assembly are all done in our own plant in Shenzhen. We buy the parts above because someone makes them better than we would; we build the rest because nobody makes a roaster body for us.

What this means for you

  • Spare parts are local. A Siemens screen, a Weishaupt burner component, an OMRON valve or a thermocouple can be sourced through that brand’s distributor in your country, as well as from us.
  • Your technicians already know the parts. A gas engineer or automation technician does not need to learn a proprietary system.
  • The machine is not locked to us. You can maintain it for its whole life whether or not you ever buy from us again — which is also why we are confident you will.

How to verify this on any roaster

Ask any manufacturer to name the burner, the controller and the motor brands on the model you are buying. Then ask to see the nameplate on each. If the answer is “our own”, ask where you would source a replacement in your country. There is nothing wrong with unbranded parts on a low-cost machine — but you should know before you buy that they are unbranded.

Frequently asked questions

If one of these parts fails, must I buy the replacement from you?

No. You can source Siemens, Weishaupt, OMRON and thermocouple replacements locally. We will tell you the exact part number so you get the right one, and we supply them ourselves if that is easier.

Why not use cheaper unbranded controllers and burners?

Because the controller decides whether the roast repeats and the burner decides whether it is safe. Those are the two places a roaster should not be cheap. The savings would be small against the price of the machine and large against the cost of a failure.

Does every Yoshan model use all five?

No. Weishaupt burners are on SD-30 Pro and larger and YS-120 and larger; Siemens control is on YS and SD Pro automatic models; ADDKA motors are on the YS series; OMRON pneumatics are on industrial YS lines; dual German probes are on the YS series. The spec sheet for your model lists what is fitted.

Can you fit a different controller if my company standardises on another brand?

For industrial lines, talk to us. Standard machines are built on Siemens because it is the most widely serviceable choice; alternatives are considered on project orders.

Final thoughts

Naming suppliers is a small act of transparency with a large practical effect: it tells you what year three looks like. The parts we buy are the parts you can buy too. How they are wired and fitted is on the control panel and burner assembly pages; the machines that carry them are in the YS series. Or return to the full build sequence.

Tell us your country, voltage, gas type and kilograms per week — we will send the matching spec sheet listing the components fitted to that model. Request the spec sheet · WhatsApp: +86 184 0771 4607
